Dave Joyce, a U.S. Congressman representing Ohio’s 14th district, has recently taken to social media to announce legislative initiatives aimed at addressing various educational and environmental concerns. The tweets highlight his efforts in proposing bills that target issues such as tuition costs, foreign influence in education, and the preservation of natural resources.

On February 5, 2025, Joyce expressed concern over the rising cost of tuition at elite universities. He stated, "Elite universities continue to raise the cost of tuition, leaving students to bear the brunt of the student debt crisis." To address this issue, he introduced the HEAT Act with the aim of ensuring that these institutions allocate their resources towards aiding students and making higher education more affordable.

Later on February 5, Joyce addressed potential foreign influence in American public schools. He announced his introduction of the CLASS Act through a tweet: "China’s attempts to influence what’s taught in our public schools is a serious concern, which is why I introduced the CLASS Act." This bill seeks to prevent K-12 public schools from accepting funds from the Chinese Communist Party (CCP), thereby safeguarding children in Ohio and nationwide.

On February 6, Joyce focused on environmental conservation by introducing legislation concerning the Great Lakes. He tweeted about his initiative: "I introduced the Great Lakes Gateways Network Act to improve public education and increase access to these national treasures." Emphasizing his commitment to preserving these vital ecosystems for future generations, he underscored that protecting the Great Lakes has been a longstanding priority during his tenure in Congress.
