David Joyce, a U.S. Congressman representing Ohio's 14th district, shared several legislative updates through his social media account on February 3, 2025. His posts highlighted recent efforts in tax relief and health monitoring for East Palestine residents, as well as railway safety enhancements.

On February 3, 2025, Joyce announced his success in securing tax relief for East Palestine residents by including it in the Tax Relief for American Families and Workers Act. This act was passed with bipartisan support in the House of Representatives. "Finally, I fought to include tax relief for the residents of East Palestine in the Tax Relief for American Families and Workers Act, which passed the House with bipartisan support."

In another update on the same day, Joyce introduced legislation focused on health impact assessments related to a local derailment incident. The proposed East Palestine Health Impact Monitoring Act of 2024 aims to conduct studies on these health impacts. "I also introduced the East Palestine Health Impact Monitoring Act of 2024 to conduct studies on the health impacts that were caused by the derailment."

Additionally, Joyce discussed his involvement in introducing a bipartisan bill during the 118th Congress aimed at improving railway safety. Known as the RAIL Act, this legislation seeks to enhance train inspection systems and increase penalties for safety violations. "In the 118th Congress, I helped introduce the RAIL Act, a bipartisan bill that increases the safety of our railways, enhances our train inspection systems, and increases penalties for those who violate safety regulations."
