State Senator Jerry Cirino (R-Kirtland) announced millions of dollars will fund key Capital Budget projects across Senate District 18 and around Greater Cleveland and Cuyahoga County. This is the second phase of the process following last week’s announcement of a $350 million investment by the Senate in Ohio communities from the One-Time Strategic Community Investment Fund.

"Lake and Cuyahoga counties are again receiving critical investments that will change the lives of our residents," said Cirino. "I'm proud to have advocated for projects that will enhance public safety and improve our recreational and cultural facilities for years to come."

Projects funded by the legislature in Senator Cirino’s district and region include:

- Alliance for Working Together: $500,000

- Classic Auto Park - Eastlake Baseball Stadium: $500,000

- Willoughby Fine Arts Corning Auditorium Stage & Lobby, Creative Arts Therapies & Mental Health: $500,000

- Lakefront Trail: $1,000,000

- Tri-County Response Center Project: $500,000

- Mentor Marina: $300,000

- Cleveland Christian Home - Child Wellness Campus: $1,500,000

- Solon Community Park Expansion: $1,500,000

The Capital Budget also includes $397 million to fund facility upgrades and innovative improvements at Ohio's public four-year and two-year colleges and universities. As Chairman of the Senate Workforce and Higher Education Committee, Senator Cirino was engaged in all the funding allocated to these institutions. The budget will also fund $600 million for new construction and facility updates at Ohio's public schools and $575 million for local infrastructure projects such as roads and water and sewer projects.

The legislature generally approves a Capital Budget every two years, funding needed improvements to public services and facilities across the state, including schools, infrastructure, mental health, and addiction facilities.

Senator Cirino, who grew up in Cleveland, has said many times that Northeast Ohio is his home community and that he works hard not only for District 18 but for all of the Northeast.
