City of Willoughby issued the following announcement on March 16.

Willoughby City Council, Ward 1 Vacancy

The Council of the City of Willoughby will begin the process of filling the Ward 1 vacancy caused by the resignation of Christopher Woodin, effective March 16, 2022. Pursuant to the procedures set forth in Article Ill, Section 3 of the Willoughby Charter, Council shall make an appointment within forty-five (45) days for the remainder of the unexpired term ending on December 31, 2023.

Interested candidates must have resided in Willoughby for one (1) year prior to appointment and if appointed for Ward 1, shall be and continue to be a resident of said Ward. Candidates must be a registered voter and not hold any other public office or Willoughby City public employment.

Council will accept letters of interest and resumes from qualified residents beginning immediately and ending on April 1, 2022 at 4:00 p.m. Letters of interest and resumes should be forwarded to Alisa Novak, Clerk of Council, One Public Square, Willoughby, Ohio, 44094 or sent electronically to anovak@willoughbyohio.com.
