U.S. Congressman Dave Joyce visited the T.J. Davies Company, Inc., in Mantua, Ohio, on Thursday to mark the company's 60th anniversary. The business, founded by Thomas Jared Davies in 1965, is now managed by his daughter Sherry Davies and is recognized for manufacturing steel retention knobs.

“T.J. Davies has long been a worldwide leader in retention knob manufacturing, and they are a shining example of Ohio’s manufacturing excellence,” said Congressman Joyce. “As Co-Chair of the Manufacturing Caucus, it is my job to make sure our manufacturers have the workforce and technology they need to compete. I want to thank Sherry and her staff for the wonderful tour of the facility, as conversations with manufacturers on the ground keep us better informed in Congress.”

Sherry Davies commented on the visit: “We were thrilled to host Congressman Joyce and his staff for a tour of our manufacturing plant today. Dave demonstrated a sincere interest in all our employees and products. We felt honored to receive a proclamation celebrating our 60 years of manufacturing in Ohio.”

T.J. Davies Company began as a job shop after Thomas Jared Davies completed his service in the U.S. Navy and relocated to Northeast Ohio. The company eventually specialized in producing retention knobs and now manufactures about 500 different styles used by government agencies such as the U.S. Army, U.S. Navy, and U.S. Department of Energy, along with private sector clients.

Congressman David Joyce has represented Ohio’s 14th district since 2013 after succeeding Steve LaTourette (https://www.congress.gov/member/david-joyce/J000295). He was born in Cleveland in 1957 and currently resides in South Russell (https://bioguide.congress.gov/search/bio/J000295). Joyce graduated from the University of Dayton with both a BS degree in 1979 and a JD degree in 1982.
