Dave Joyce reflects on international relations and historic papal leadership

David Joyce, a U.S. Congressman representing Ohio's 14th district since 2013, has recently shared insights into his engagements and views through social media. Born in Cleveland in 1957, Joyce holds degrees from the University of Dayton and currently resides in South Russell.

On May 7, 2025, Joyce expressed his enthusiasm following a meeting with Prime Minister Andrej Plenkovic of Croatia. He stated: "It was an honor to meet with Prime Minister @AndrejPlenkovic of Croatia this afternoon. With roughly 15,000 Croatian Americans residing in Northeast Ohio, I am excited to continue strengthening the relationship between our countries as Co-Chair of the Congressional Croatian".

The following day, on May 8, 2025, Joyce extended his congratulations to Pope Leo XIV on becoming the first American pontiff in history. In his tweet he said: "Congratulations to Pope Leo XIV, the first American pontiff in history! As he begins to lead the over 1 billion Catholics in their faith, Kelly and I will be praying for his good health and success."

On May 9, 2025, Joyce took time to acknowledge Military Spouse Appreciation Day by highlighting the sacrifices made by military spouses. He noted: "Our soldiers’ husbands and wives make sacrifices unseen to the public every day. On Military Spouse Appreciation Day, let us thank them for the support they provide for our troops and their families."
