David Joyce, a U.S. Congressman representing Ohio's 14th district since 2013, has recently shared his insights and legislative activities through a series of tweets. Joyce, who replaced Steve LaTourette in Congress, is known for his active involvement in defense and healthcare issues.

On May 6, 2025, David Joyce emphasized the importance of aligning defense appropriations with national threats. He stated, "Our defense appropriations funding must be consistent with the threats our nation faces." During an oversight hearing by the House Appropriations Defense Subcommittee, he questioned officials from the U.S. Air Force and Space Force on addressing these challenges.

The following day, May 7, 2025, Joyce announced his introduction of a resolution to designate May 6-12 as National Nurses Week. He expressed pride in this initiative as Co-Chair of the Congressional Nursing Caucus. In his words: "I am proud to introduce a resolution that will designate May 6-12 as National Nurses Week." He highlighted his commitment to ensuring that nurses' voices are represented on Capitol Hill.

Later on May 7, Joyce participated in another House Appropriations Defense Subcommittee hearing involving U.S. Army officials. He discussed how competition could enhance procurement processes and foster innovation amidst global threats. As he noted: "Today...we discussed how competition can strengthen our procurement process and drive innovation."

David Joyce was born in Cleveland, Ohio in 1957 and currently resides in South Russell. He graduated from the University of Dayton with both a BS and JD by 1982.
