U.S. Representative Dave Joyce, who serves Ohio’s 14th district, recently addressed government funding issues and marked the observance of Yom Kippur in a series of posts on his official social media account.

On September 30, 2025, Joyce wrote, "The @HouseGOP did its job in passing a clean CR to prevent a harmful government shutdown that will leave our troops without pay and disrupt federal services for millions of Americans. It’s time for Senate Democrats to do the right thing and pass the House-backed CR."

The following day, on October 1, he provided further details about recent legislative actions: "On September 19, I voted for a clean CR to keep the government open while Congress continues to work on passing twelve individual appropriations bills. Unfortunately, we have passed the funding deadline and are experiencing a lapse in appropriations. Read my full statement."

Later that same day, Joyce extended well wishes for those observing a significant religious holiday: "Wishing all those observing Yom Kippur a meaningful fast. May it be a time of prayer, reflection, and renewal."

David Joyce has represented Ohio’s 14th congressional district since 2013 after succeeding Steve LaTourette. He was born in Cleveland in 1957 and currently resides in South Russell. Joyce holds both undergraduate and law degrees from the University of Dayton.
