The Lake County Sheriff’s Office Dive Team took advantage of the warm weekend weather to conduct training this past Sunday.  Divers traveled to White Star Quarry which is a popular location amongst scuba divers in Ohio and is one of the few locations that provides a clear water environment.  There are various underwater features, vehicles, vessels, and obstacles where divers can challenge their skills in a safe setting.  Divers were able to complete dives at depths ranging from 30-50’ and were able to inspect and dive around sunken vehicles.  The LCSO Dive Team works closely with our Marine Patrol and responds to water-related incidents such as rescue and recovery, underwater searches, vehicle and evidence recovery.  More often than not, our divers find themselves diving in cold water temperatures with little to no visibility to complete their mission.  It is important that our divers prepare for all situations and environments they may be called upon to assist.
