Lake Metroparks issued the following announcement on Jan. 3.
14 Christmas tree drop-off locations in Lake Metroparks:
Real Christmas trees are biodegradable, which means they can be easily reused or recycled for mulch in our parks. Tree bin available through mid-January.
After the holidays, don’t throw your real Christmas tree in the trash or set it on the curb. Real Christmas trees are biodegradable, which means they can be easily reused or recycled for mulch and other purposes. Recycling Christmas trees helps Lake Metroparks as they are chipped and the chips are then composted or used as mulch within our parks.
