Madison home prices fall in the first half of 2018

The median sale price of a home sold in the first half of 2018 in Madison fell by $8,950 while total sales increased by 18.3%, according to BlockShopper.com.

From January through June of 2018, there were 71 homes sold, with a median sale price of $139,500 - a 6% decrease over the $148,450 median sale price for the same period of the previous year. There were 60 homes sold in Madison in the first half of 2017.

The median sales tax in Madison for the most recent year with available data, 2015, was $4,328, approximately 3.1% of the median home sale price for the first half of 2018.
