Senate Finance Chairman Jerry Cirino (R-Kirtland) has announced the allocation of $850,000 for community projects in Ohio’s 18th Senate District. The funding was approved by the Ohio Controlling Board and will benefit organizations in Cuyahoga and Lake counties.
The May Dugan Center in Cuyahoga County is set to receive $350,000 from the Department of Mental Health & Addiction. The funds will be used to renovate and expand the center's program space. The May Dugan Center provides programs and services that aim to help individuals overcome socio-economic challenges by teaching skills for self-sufficiency.
In Lake County, the Fine Arts Association will be awarded $500,000 for renovations to its Corning Auditorium. This facility serves as an educational space for students studying dance, music, theater, and visual arts. It also hosts musical and dramatic performances throughout the year.
"Each of these projects received my full support in the previous Capital Budget," said Senator Cirino. "I know that the funds for these projects will be used to enhance the quality of life for the people in their communities and I look forward to seeing their completion."
