Dave Joyce, U.S. Congressman representing Ohio’s 14th district since 2013, posted a series of updates on September 11, 2025, highlighting recent legislative actions and concerns regarding military well-being.

On the evening of September 11, Joyce announced the completion of appropriations work by the House Appropriations Committee: "Last night, @HouseAppropsGop finished marking up the last of 12 appropriations bills, a major step in the government funding process. I am extremely proud of the Committee’s work, and I urge my colleagues to swiftly pass these bills on the House floor." (posted at 16:05 UTC).

Later that day, he addressed mental health challenges within the armed forces during National Suicide Prevention Month. In his words: "The rising rates of suicide in our military are alarming, and we must address them as a nation, particularly during National Suicide Prevention Month. The Military Suicide Prevention in the 21st Century Act authorizes a 2-year pilot program to provide training and install suicide" (posted at 20:00 UTC).

In another post from the same evening, Joyce highlighted defense legislation recently passed by the House: "The FY26 NDAA raises pay for our troops, streamlines weapons procurement, and modernizes our military. I was proud to see it pass the House with some of the major priorities I fought to include " (posted at 20:00 UTC).

David Joyce was born in Cleveland in 1957 and currently resides in South Russell. He earned both his undergraduate degree (1979) and law degree (1982) from the University of Dayton.
