Dave Joyce, U.S. Congressman representing Ohio’s 14th district since 2013, posted a series of statements on social media addressing recent events involving Charlie Kirk and commemorating the anniversary of the September 11 attacks.
On September 10, 2025, Joyce expressed concern about reports from Utah Valley University, stating, "I am horrified by the terrible news coming out of Utah Valley University. Kelly and I are praying for Charlie Kirk and his family."
Later that day, he continued with a message regarding Kirk's family and broader issues related to political violence: "I am heartbroken for Charlie Kirk’s wife and the two young children he is leaving behind. Everyone should be able to express their First Amendment rights without fear, and we must do everything we can as a country to combat political violence."
On September 11, Joyce marked the anniversary of the terrorist attacks in New York City: "24 years ago, thousands of Americans were murdered in the 9/11 terrorist attacks. May we never forget the victims, their loved ones, and the brave first responders who risked everything to save more lives."
David Joyce was born in Cleveland in 1957 and currently resides in South Russell. He holds both undergraduate and law degrees from the University of Dayton.
